Τemporary Exhibition Extension
The temporary exhibition at the Museum of Asian Art, entitled “Korea Through Its Landscapes,” has been extended until November 23, 2024, due to overwhelming public interest.
The exhibition features nine selected works of Korean landscape painting from the museum’s permanent collection. These artworks, created with ink on paper or silk, date back to the 18th and 19th centuries, a period when Korean artists developed a distinctive style of landscape painting focused on realistic depiction. The natural beauty of Korea—with its rugged mountains, deep valleys, and flowing rivers—offered rich inspiration for artists aiming to express the cultural essence of the Korean people.
This exhibition provides visitors with the unique opportunity to explore 19th-century Korea through the eyes of the artists of that era, discovering the world as they saw and portrayed it.
